Icon or Eyesore: The demolition of a Rusted Longmont Relic.

Golden West Flour Mill in Longmont CO comes down after 94 years.

To some it is considered an eyesore, some consider it a reminder of Longmont's agricultural history. To the folks here at BK Media Group, it's time for it to go. Although we appreciate what this structure once stood for, it's time for this dilapidated building to come down. The Golden West Flour Mill stands south west of our front windows, leaving us a nice view. But it is going away which is excellent.

This structure was like a monolith on the south side of town. It had its certain rustic aesthetic qualities; it served as a canvas for daring graffiti artists. It had the potential to be a trendy disco tech, ugly on the outside but nice on the inside - maybe not. Its a refreshing and welcome change to downtown Longmont.
