  • What is web hosting and how do I know what to look for?
The World Wide Web is a massive collection of web sites, all hosted on computers (called web servers) all over the world. The web server (computer) where your web sites html files, graphics, etc. reside is known as the web host. It is important for your host to be compatible with your web site. Contact BKMedia Group and we will help you set-up your hosting.
  • How long does it take to build a web site?
Depending on the depth of the web site itself, it usually takes 6 weeks from start to finish.
  • Do I need to purchase my own Domain Name?
If you do not already have a domain name, then yes, you will need to purchase a domain name. Visit networksolutions.com or godaddy.com to purchase your domain name.
  • Do I need an SSL?
Yes, if you will be selling online.
  • Can I accept credit cards online?
Absolutely, we can set you up with an easy-to-use, dynamic shopping cart system.
  • Once I decide to move forward with my web site, what steps do I take to get started?
Step1 | Your Domain Name: Domain names are used in URLs to identify particular
web pages (for example: www.bkmediagroup.com is our domain name). Every domain
name has a suffix that indicates which top level domain it belongs to (.com, .net, .gov,
.edu, etc.). If you already have a domain name, please provide us with your user name,
password and the provider you purchased it from. If you do not have a domain name,
please visit either networksolutions.com or godaddy.com to purchase your desired
domain name. Once you have purchased your domain name, please provide us with your
    user name and password.

Step2 | Setup Hosting: The World Wide Web is a massive collection of web sites,
all hosted on computers (called web servers) all over the world. The web server (computer)
where your web site’s html files, graphics, etc. reside is known as the web host. If you
already have hosting that is provided to you, please provide us with your host, user name
and password. We’ll need to make sure that your current hosting plan will be compatible
    with the new site.

If you do not have hosting, please visit westhost.com and setup a hosting account
with them. They charge roughly $120.00 per year. Once you have done that, please
provide Jackie with you user name and password.

Step3 | Content Population: Populating content takes up a significant amount of
time in the development process. To help speed this process along we ask you to please
start gathering and organizing the content that you’d like on the new web site. Content
includes text, photos, and related imagery and media that will be available for your users to
view openly on your web site (i.e. the “About Us” section of your web site will require you to
provide text and any imagery related to this page). If you have a shopping cart, content can
also pertain to the product information and specifications on your web site.
